For the first time in 100 years, the public will have access to 47 acres — or 20% of all the developable land within Uplands — of publicly accessible parks, view corridors and pedestrian walkways. This will be accomplished by donating 34 acres to the city to develop public parks, reserving 6 acres for dedicated view corridors, and building 7 acres of publicly-accessible pocket parks. All together, that means all residents will be within a 10-minute walk of a park, fulfilling a long-held community desire for more parks spaces in the southern part of Westminter.
